Hey Joseph,
Thanks for the application! I had a chance to read through it and discuss with the rest of the KL committee, and am liking the direction and tests so far. I do have a couple questions and some feedback:
- There's a couple specific details about the plotting that I'd like to know...
Hey, great work again! Yeah, the rooves on diagonal houses can be a bit tricky to get right. It's difficult for me to see the house layout from the pictures, but the gap in the top of the roof in the 5th pic makes me think you might need to adjust the plot so the peak of the roof looks like the...
Hey AuntDestroyer,
Welcome back! I'm glad to see that you're interested in continuing with your app!
Really nice work on these houses overall, and I also like the way you incorporated some of the newer blocks. The only feedback I have is that you currently use the "rowlock" variant of the...
I'm considering a set of additions that unifies these two requests anyways (as well as the ornamental colors proposed here, though I'm still unsure about the multi-color patterns). Here's what I suggested in the texture team Discord:
1. The addition of a light/desturated brown tile, plus the...
geeberry can give you terraformer perms. I'd recommend just individually forming the levels of the hill using a cyl/disc brush ("/br cyl <block> <size> 1" with WE, or "/ts b d cc" with terrasniper), it's totally feasible for a relatively small hill and will likely give better results than the...
The main difficulty here is that the vertical panes on the fire block have a slight angle to them (IIRC), so they wouldn't line up for CTM. Also, having a flat vertical stack of fire blocks would likely look unnatural even with CTM.
One option may be to add a web-based "wildfire" block with...
What specific limitations are you facing with WE? The cyl brush and //smooth should be sufficient for the hill, plus the terrasniper erosion tools if you're terraformer role.
Hey jean,
This house looks fantastic! My only feedback really is to decrease the spacing of the rafters a bit in the interior, since there's a lot of thatch showing through. Granted this can be tricky in diagonal houses.
Otherwise you nailed the style though, so consider yourself approved...
I might want to explore some alternative designs for the ruins with you, so I'd prefer if you hold those off till later, but everything else looks good to me. You have my approval as well!
Very nicely done with the layout on this house, I like the subtle asymmetries!
My main feedback this time is just to simplify the stone/plaster palette a bit. Usually for normal-sized houses you want to keep it within a range of 3-5 main blocks or else it can get too busy. For the most part the...
Hey jean,
No worries at all, glad to see you're interested in continuing!
Since we recently moved builder applications over to our Discord server, I'd like to give you the option to move your app there if you want. Just make a new post in the #applications channel and link to this thread, and...
I've actually started to take inventory of the materials used currently in subregions of KL (currently at my test plot), for the purposes of (a) tightening the style/materials a bit in some of the current districts, and (b) evaluating how to incorporate the new stone brick types into the KL...
Hey CDogz,
This is a very cute little homestead - awesome work this time! Just some quick feedback:
- The yard layout with the fence totally encircling the house tends to be rather uncommon, and is something I usually associate more with modern houses. I usually recommend aligning the house...
