The Spring 2023 edition of The Rookery is now out! Take a look to see the latest builds, guides, progress and development updates on the upcoming 1.18.2 switch. You can read it here:
"Sinking land" and "rising ocean waters," I think refer specifically to how the stepstones formed after in an attempt to rationalize the children's magic by a global warming type event which resulted in polar ice caps melting and subsequent rise of the sea levels.
The magic aimed at severing...
On the matter of Greywater:
I totally agree with Loras' point on GRRM frequently employing an unreliable narrator (gee just look at Eyrie-stage Sansa's distorted recollection of Winterfell), but I also see the appeal of building something totally novel and out-of-this-world based on the wildest...
I haven't yet read through the entire thread so pardon my ignorant post (which I'll remove if it proves redundant).
If/ when we get to redoing the neck I hope we can strike a balance between:
- the 'southern US states' inspired canon (alligators, snakes, fungus covered half-drowned trees)
- the...
That's just the test client's standard config. It will automatically walk up any full block. You can disable it in the settings ;) (That's what regular Minecraft does nowadays)
Emote, the spikes were meant to be spikes :D I made the texture back in the day to specifically have spikes as I explained above. This has nothing to do with the transparent top texture since the block is too thin for this to even matter and the texture doesn’t span the full size of the 32*32...
Hm.. looks like the american search results could be different :D Can you post that image? My results have no spikes whatsoever, and look rather quaint:
As for Arda's wattle fence, they also have a different texture right? Like, they probably use the wattle fence texture of conquest and not...
re:half-wattle: If you could see them side by side I am sure that the other approach will look better to you. In addition, it seems to be closer to how wattle edging looks in real life. As a side note, when I made the wattle block, I fashioned the single block texture after what I saw in my...
Hmm. I don't think the 8-way CTM is necessary. I've never seen a pond that was only half covered in duck weed. Typically they are 100% covered with it so a single random texture would be enough really.
The fact that a custom LiquidBlock doesn't exist is annoying..adding a new block seems to be...
> As far as custom water, that definitely won't work - remember we still technically have that waves CTM in the resource pack, but it hasn't been working for ages.
That's not a custom water block though right, but rather biome dependent CTM? Does WesterosBlocks support a water block model?
My suggestions:
-Short Wattle fence | use half of the lower CTM texture, the spikes on this one seem much too prominent to me.
-Peat | Add one custom block shape of peat stacks or add stairs and walls to represent slender peat stacks. The slab and full blocks are good to represent peat when its...
1. Totally tooting my own horn for the gatehouse I made in Duskendale. It looms over the north end of the bridge. I've been on a long hiatus before building it and when I came on the server conditions were just perfect: DD had developed into this beautifully aged town with lots of unique and...
I looked it up on some ASOIAF timeline saying that 287 was the start of the “game of thrones” present. The three years don’t really make a difference tho imo. According to the “present” canon, driftmark castle is the main seat right? Is there any mention of High Tide being used/ existing in the...
After > (287-130=) 157 years, I doubt that there is anything left of the castle bar earthworks and some solid rock foundations. The roof would certainly be all gone given that the castle was torched and is on such an exposed position. Wind, weather and sea likely have chiselled it down to...
Have you mod folks been able to set the port to 1.13 in motion? @mikeprimm, I suppose you have begun porting Dynmap a while ago already? What are the impediments in moving WB and the server ahead?
Awesome! I'll go in and flesh out whatever you deem lacking. I'm happy to cook up some prototypes too (will mostly be python but I could do some javascript for ease of use and distribution too)
@Hal9007 I've gone through the Almanach and have selected a few items that I think are mature enough to be prototyped in UE. I put them in the Game Design Product Backlog column in this board: https://trello.com/b/ql291HEk/westeroscraft-mmo-development
Let's implement a rough prototype and then...
We should test that changing them replaces them one to one and doesn't reset the ones we've placed i.e. turning shields into arbitrary 1*1 paintings.
I'm happy to give some of the smaller motifs a go but again I don't have time to do much of the research. So if y'all could compile a list of...
