The Spring 2023 edition of The Rookery is now out! Take a look to see the latest builds, guides, progress and development updates on the upcoming 1.18.2 switch. You can read it here:
Tobi : Feel free to change the terra (within reason)! Looking forward to the app!
JosephUnderlight : Thanks for your interest in the farm! Unfortunately, this doesn't fit what I was going for with the mini. It should be a farm complex with work buildings, a main residence, a barn, a sheepfold...
Don't worry about asking for permission about adding individual buildings! I actually think you could have storage barns in both locations. You certainly have enough crops to warrant multiple facilities.
I think this is more or less what I was trying to get at in my critiques of the original Hamell app. Rather than introducing new blocks to the area, it might be easier to create more "cottage-y"/Varner-inspired house shapes using blocks already in use in the Westerlands.
I'm not saying that...
Vinnie : This overall looks great! Just two notes, only one of which I would like you to work on before I give my approval:
I'm not really a fan of "church septs." Can you try to change the shape of the sept so it is more heptagonal? A different shape might also help integrate the bell tower a...
A bit of an update:
The Oxcross part of my project is starting to wind down! There are just two minis (a shepherd farm complex and a logging camp/lumber mill) and a few barn plots left to do. The plots are open to anyone interested!
Sfham3 has several plots, special and normal, available...
I can give both of you some tips and teach you things I've learned about doing terra in the Westerlands, but I don't have time to take on an additional terra project.
Jakethesnake8_8 and Nikas Kunitz : Thank you both for your awesome Hornvale sept tests! There are things I really like in both of them, but after much deliberation I'm picking Jake's sept for Hornvale.
I would suggest not having a road straight into the Riverlands from Lorch. There's already a road that goes through Wyndhall, and the River Road through Golden Tooth is not far to the south.
This is a marked improvement!
One other thing: it might be nice to add LP brick timber blocks to your house palette to add a bit more variety. In my own project, I chose to add LP timber in the areas closest to Lannisport, and I think Garner is close enough to warrant its use, as well.
