Oldtown Teams coordination
Oldtown Dedicated Teams focus on certain overarching subprojects like the Sewers, Roads, Defenses or similar parts of the City, as explained before. In the following post, we explain the two different roles, Team Leader and Team Member in additional detail. You will learn about the requirements for these roles. Team Leader Teams are made up of 1 to at most 2 Team Leaders. Team Leaders take the role of a project manager for their team. They need to fulfill a number of additional requirements, like: Define goals and Milestones Coordinating with OT Core and other administration Coordinating with Subdistrict Leaders Coordinating with other Teams Project Management of their own Team Team Member coordination Conflict resolution Decision...
Description: The Defenses Team continues and builds upon the work of WhereRmyDragons and Endymion, who have created the first renditions of the Oldtown defenses, viewable to the south and southeast of the city. These first approaches can be kept and used as a style guide directly, or they could be further developed - this is something the Defenses Team would have to explore and discuss with the community. Estimated Collective Workload: medium - develop a style guide based on what we've already made. Review the planned city defenses with us. Build and organise the first thing a pilgrim or traveler approaching Oldtown sees: the city walls. Objectives: Walls, Towers, organising and co-approving City Gates and City Guard Outpost...
Description: This team focuses on the rivers and canals inside the city walls, which includes both finishing touches to the river terraforming, and the developing of styles for the canals and other water ways. The team also plans and organizes the water market and finds spots for other water related features throughout the city, like mills, above ground water reservoirs, etc. Estimated Workload: Some initial work to set up style guides for the canals, also some terraforming. Close interaction with the Sewers team is required. Lateron, once the city build is underway, some cooperation with subdistrict leaders will be required to organize some of the features. Objectives: Rivers and canals, other water related features (above ground)...
Description: The Terraforming Team assists with all sorts of small and and editing tasks, which include the usual WE assistance as well as some large scale terraforming in the surrounding lands, e.g. the completion of the coast line, forests, rivers and the implementation of agriculture in the sprawl districts and projects. Expected collective workload: large- there's a lot of work to be done, but should be quite manageble for a group of editors. Expect tasks to come up continuously, but in digestible bits. Required Skills: Requires solid experience with WE/VS and WE scripts execution - profound terraforming knowledge is however not a necessity. Objectives: Create or adapt agriculture/nature/vegetation style guides for the southern...
Description: The Waters & Sewage team continues the planning, designing and finalising of Oldtown's freshwater supply network and sewer system. A big part of the network is already planned out and just requires reviewing and finishing, but especially the western part of the city leaves room for a few chances to implement interesting features. The team would have to develop styles for the underground waterworks, and has the opportunity to create an intricate network of tunnels that has the potential to be a lot of fun to explore. Underground dwellings and other features also fall into this team's responsibilities. Estimated collective workload: medium - plans are a bit obscure right now, and building underground is always a challenge...
Description: The Road Network Team's responsibility is to design and complete the major and minor roads in- and outside the city walls. This requires style development - based on previous work - and a close cooperation with the Sewers Team as well as SubDistrict leads for the completion. Expected collective workload: medium - quite some initial work for style definition and then applying that to the Road Network. Detailing work after SubDistricts are complete, in cooperation with SubDistrict leads. Objectives: Road styles, Sewers integration, Bridges, Detailing Team Lead: Team Members: Trello:
