    TheGoatLord Builder Application

Hey GoatLord, Sorry for the delay on my end as well! Been a busy last few days. Again, great work on this house! It seems like another improvement to me, which is a good sign. Being a bit pickier with my feedback this time: - When you have an overhang on the roof, and you're also jettying the...

    Playing around with wood textures

I really like the white and gray wood! It's like what I was trying to do with the last update, but better. Looks more like whitewashed wood planks. I'm still having some doubts about the normal wood types though, i.e. oak/spruce/birch/jungle. They feel a bit too flat/washed out compared to the...

    Thamus' Texture Treasure Trove

Well, it’s just a matter of running an offline replace script, which Mike has already created, on the world data. Candles should be fine, since the vertical/horizontal variations have unique metadata IIRC. Likewise with the other blocks. The issue is that it does require some server downtime, so...

    Thamus' Texture Treasure Trove

Yes, those aren't good either, and I'd very much like to move them onto custom blocks. The difference is these blocks became used in this manner after they were already present in the game, whereas now we have a choice to either add these crops as custom blocks or purposefully add them in an...

    Thamus' Texture Treasure Trove

Okay, well, that's not ideal at all. I wasn't aware of people doing that. If anything that's an argument to move the vanilla crops onto a custom ID (though it'd require Mike to run the block replace script). Or I can try to make some biome variations of the tilled soil block, if the only reason...

    Thamus' Texture Treasure Trove

Really? I don't remember seeing that. Do the blocks break if you place a block adjacent to them? I'd still like to see a plan for a team to systematically update old builds with any new crop blocks, in the climates where they would be appropriate, before officially adding any.

    Thamus' Texture Treasure Trove

The difference, to me, is that those other blocks don’t already have some ‘internal logic’ tying together their block states, in this case level of growth. I’m generally wary of relying on vanilla blocks for things at all, since Mojang could so easily push an update which breaks something if...

    Thamus' Texture Treasure Trove

I don’t think it’s very good practice to have entirely different crops sharing meta of the same ID. I thought we ditched that kind of thing a while ago. Also, the crops require tilled soil underneath, so it’d be unstable.

    Abandoned House Ferren - ZeRamenGuy

I agree with Stoop. We've never accepted casual in-game approvals for projects, even if from the original project lead/mod. These things all need to go through the explicit process just like any build. The last time we let a foster-like build slide beneath the forums was with Carc's cape kraken...

Terraforming [Geomorphology 101] 1. Fluvial Processes

Many of the images in the original post(s) seem to have 404'd! If you're able to recover them, would you be able to download those images (and all the other ones too) and upload them to our website's file service so they're more reliable?

Completed Hermit Island By Johan (Immersion project)

I think Cash is right that the moss in the insp images would be out of place there, and would fit better on the II. Perhaps just tone down the healthland biome a bit, and perhaps try to have some green moss here and there to show the dampness.

    Westeroscraft Texture Pack Megathread

Ah, I get you now. I think the calculations involved with adjacency mask would make it a lot more difficult to do the mass replaces I was talking about, if anything. We can be more careful along the borders of the snowy areas. Are there any places north of the snow line that don't have spruce...

    RomanticSoda420 Builder Application

Hey RomanticSoda, Thanks for the application, and sorry for the delay in response! I'm glad to see your interest in our server. Though your houses aren't currently at the stylistic standards that we have on the server, you have some cool ideas (like the watchtower). I'll give you a series of...

    TheGoatLord Builder Application

Hey GoatLord, Great work on this house! It seems like a huge improvement over the first one, and you got most of the important elements of the Woodwright style. I'll jump right into some of the feedback I have: - I agree with your comment about the roof corner. Usually we avoid those and go...

Terraforming Terraforming Guide - Cliffs and Erosion

Doubt we’ll have an easy time selling a sketchy mediafire link to Mike for one of our dependencies. If we can find source code anywhere, we might be able to reverse-engineer it.

    Uldirone Builder Application

Hey Uldirone, Great work on this house! I gave you a tricky style, and you didn't disappoint at all. I'd say you're ready to be promoted. I do have some (mostly picky) final feedback I want to give on this house though, so you can keep it in mind going forward: - I love the experimentation...

    Westeroscraft Texture Pack Megathread

Going to bring this up again now that I've made headway on fixing the leaf blocks: It's looking less likely that I'll be able to make spruce leaf blocks snowy just by using some CTM, since the criss-cross models are now added using the basic block models, as opposed to an actual mod. This means...
