The Spring 2023 edition of The Rookery is now out! Take a look to see the latest builds, guides, progress and development updates on the upcoming 1.18.2 switch. You can read it here:
Request: Add Legume plant
Request Type: General Addition
Try to describe all workarounds and associated issues that make it necessary to add this block in your eyes.
The way we currently depict peas/legumes with the "pea" block, isn't really realistic to how legumes were grown in...
I found that "northern reach megabuild" may be a bit complicated for day-to-day use, so i came up with an easier name for the region :). From now on i want to call the megabuild:
"Springhamshire"
This region serves as the source of the Mander, so it reflects in the name Springham :)
Hey Tickle,
Cool that you try something new and make the next step of building which is a mini :)
My feedback would pretty much be the same as for InvertedWinger, take a look at irl hamlet layouts, and i find it always good to experiment a few different ways, perfection comes through iteration...
Yes!
Definetly on the northern end of Smithyton, to transition into the field of fire, i plan continue in the same style meadow as the FoF. Also around the spring of the Mander near tumbleton, and the "footly hill" will probably be mostly wild meadows, since i don't want too much forested areas.
Thanks for the input. Totally agree with you there.
The "industry map" was just to give an indication as to what indsutries are predominantly defining each region.
On the south end towards the mander, i was planning to have a "Driesch" area which is used as pastures by the locals.
The diagram...
Hey InvertedWinger,
i would absolutely agree with Aeks feedback. Hamlets don't form in such a shape as you have there.
I'd suggest you learn more about how settlements in real life have formed in the past.
We have a nice illustrative guide on the server at /warp plottingguide.
But if you...
So i made a little field study...
I looked at all existing projects in the area and looked at the wind direction.
Heres the result:
The blue arrows represent the existing wind directions and the yellow arrows are what i propose as sensible wind directions for the three northern reach projects...
Well we could try to make 1x2 textures too, by stacking two clothlines right on top of each other. That might look weird in some places where clothlines are stacked vertically, but thats not usually how we use those, and i haven't seen a case of it yet.
Hi witherack,
I noticed a few things, that need tweaking on your test.
The cloth cover on that pavillion seems to defy gravity. It looks way too "ballony", also the middle support is just standing on the table. With cloth you need to think about how a piece of cloth would behave if you hang...
Update:
On request by Eld, i prepared a rough map of the different industries that will be present in the region:
Around Tumbleton: Pretty much only farming
The hill at Merkley will be a vineyard
Across the Footly hill, there will be a lot of pastures and dairy farms
Around Smithyton: A few...
Hi strijdheld,
very nice house!
I pretty much don't see any mistakes worth mentioning. After seeing all the houses you built, i feel confident you will make for an excellent builder :)
Please make sure to read the New Builder guide here: https://westeroscraft.com/wiki/guides/new-builders-guide...
Hey, sorry again for letting you hang here so long!
So, heres my feedback:
The roof rafters would need horizontal wooden supports to support the shingles too. You just did the vertical rafters.
When using a bench block or cabinet etc., make sure that only one side is visible. You have a bench...
