    Westeroscraft 10 Year Anniversary

A role playing event would definitely attract lots of attention, not sure though if it's the type of attention we'd want. I could see a reenactment of the events of the first few seasons in kl happening, possibly the battle of the blackwater?

    Introducing: The "Kachelofen"

Addendum: after some superficial research, the green colour of the tiles seen so often seems to come mainly (like in forest glass) from copper and iron ions, both abundant in central Europe. It may also be just fashion, most surviving examples are from higher nobility.

    Introducing: The "Kachelofen"

Three Stoves from the 18th century. various tiles ranging from the 14th to the 16th century, notably. most were dark green, as were the ones in the Churburg from that period (which I sadly was not allowed to make photos of), I apologise for the terrible image quality. photographing through...

Command to hide chat, except /msg

Sometimes chat is a bit distracting, yet I don't feel comfortable hiding chat as I don't want to remove myself entirely from the community. I propose a simple option where chat would be hidden, but /msg would still be displayed.

    Gulltown Redo Discussion Megathread

The colors are a bit too bright imo, but I feel the half hip roofs (which commonly appear in Riquewihr) should definitely be a defining element in the area. Swiss Fachwerk is commonly quite densely timbered, which we usually do not do on the server, adding to a unique style. Seeing the tests...

Bundwerk - Austrian woodworking at it's best. Since we have so much Fachwerk everywhere, I think we should introduce some new architecture. Look at these beauties!

    Gealrüable Builder Application

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I finished this middle class house of a cobbler in the style of fairmarket. I'm afraid I'm quite busy, so it took a while. Next to the house I also built a small carpenter, but I didn't quite finish the interior. I'm not entirely happy with the design all around...

    Introducing: The "Kachelofen"

The "Kachelofen" is a type of masonry stove, development starting around the 9th century. First examples of the typical "Hinterladerofen" (backloading stoves) appear in the 11th century and around the 12th century they are considered standard inventory in castles and high class houses. Although...

    Salt

Indirectly, yes. Most nobles got rich through tributes and tolls from merchants. The tributes from the peasantry were usually mostly food and labour (Frondienst), while the cities themselves often did not pay many taxes to the nobles. The right to collect tribute was not given to just everyone...
