As you might've read in the latest Summer Edition of the Rookery we are planning to mark 10 years of WesterosCraft this November 13th.

We want this to be celebration of everything this community's achieved over these years, and like with everything this server achieves it will need your help to do it!

It's hoped that the anniversary will involve:
  • New videos;
  • Reunions with old builders;​
  • Mini-games;​
  • Building contests;​
  • Guided tours; and​
  • New project announcements.​
/warp anniversary have been setup as a hub for anniversary activities. You can already take a monorail tour of the WIP map of Westeros.

Like with our usual Christmas/Halloween areas you can feel free to build things to celebrate the history of the server (museum exhibits/rides/statues/trivia etc).

What Westeros needs from you:
  • Your involvement. This won't be fun without your support and enthusiasm!​
  • Your ideas. Use this thread to suggest ideas for anniversary activities, or just start building them at /warp anniversary​
  • Your contacts. We want to get the word out to as many old builders and visitors as we can. If you have any connections with former builders it would be great if you could get the word out to them that we'll want them back. We'll hopefully do a mail out to all forum members with the key details.​
  • Your filmmaking skills/ideas. A big anniversary video is a no-brainer, but what it actually looks like and features is something we could use your help and ideas on. Get in touch if you would like to contribute.​
  • And hey if you wanted to plan a Sunspear server build to launch on the anniversary, THAT would really be swell.​
10 years holy shit, let's make it a big one.

I think we should try and have some presence on YouTube and media in general. A 10 yr anniversary for a Minecraft server is a pretty big deal and can bring us some attention from the News.

I also think having a showcase of how the server build style has evolved over time would be cool. For example a showcase of the different versions of KL houses from old KL to the remaster.

Adding on to this, Ardacraft has a museum showcasing their history and important events/builds. It would be really cool if for a new spawn this was added

A role playing event would definitely attract lots of attention, not sure though if it's the type of attention we'd want.

I could see a reenactment of the events of the first few seasons in kl happening, possibly the battle of the blackwater?

Battle of the blackwater would be cool but I think we'd need wildfire custom blocks and many many people. Or maybe a functioning skeleton army (CashBanks could you get the wither skeletons and archers going with a really long detection range? you managed it once before on fistfight iirc and it was quite impressive. Reskin to be Baratheon men too?)

Maybe defence of the Mud Gate to be more specific if we don't think we can get the numbers? However, if PvP is enabled, that opens up the option of Redgrass Field, Ruby Ford and the Last Storm as other iconic battles from the books.

Yeah all these would be great, we can do very barebones PvE at the moment but the mobs' are still pretty dumb and easy to kill. The upgrade to 1.16 might bring some more options in terms of new mod plugins and PvP that would enable better tailored combat.

Server history museum is coming together at /warp museum
If you have ideas for exhibits/layout just start plotting them out and we can make it all cohesive later

There's been some good ideas discussed about Hardhome in discord. I think for the Server Build to work we'd at least need to have the town roughly plotted out.

Dorne Week

Would be easy enough to do this in the Production map and just copy/paste a backup boneway. No paintings or signs to complicate it.
Stormlands Week

Optionally, there's a fixed amount of neutral (villagers) and hostile(guards) NPCs that get in the way. Doubly optional: killing them gives points too?

We could have two copies of LHT: the combat zone, and then a backup that we copy/paste when resetting. Folks could strategise in the backup copy during the reset.
We could hide creepers, skeletons in houses, and add nametags to create unique items with particular point values.
