Howy, i understand your concerns about the river and it's true that the mouth is a bit strange !
unfortunately i can't connect at the moment so i made a mini picture of what i thought to change.
basically, it's just making the mouth larger, maybe also reducing a bit the size of the little 'isle' near the connection with the Blackwater. For the circle near the sawmill i thought of making the river a little bit wider (1 or 2 blocks) just to respect principes of physic when the canal is closed !
