What is your Minecraft username?
Aferys

What is your age?
25+

In what country are you living?
Spain

Where did you first hear about WesterosCraft?
Youtube

What do you like the most about GoT/ASoIaF?
What I like most about ASOIAF worldbuilding are the different cultures that exist, especially Essos. Particularly, I am very interested in religions. I like many characters, like Oberyn or Sansa, but my favorite is Olenna Tyrell. The best battle in Game of Thrones is undoubtedly the Blackwater Battle

What is your favorite build on our server?
I love researching new city projects that haven't been done yet. My favorite places are the Great Sept of Baelor, Highgarden or Duskendale

Why do you want to join our server?
I studied History at the University, and I have a lot of knowledge about medieval and modern Europe. I also love researching the world of ASOIAF. Also, I being from the south of Spain, I know many iconic buildings that could help build Dorne or Oldtown.

Hey Aferys! Lovely to see not only a fellow Spaniard but also one that studied History as well! Aside from that, nice work with the app house! I see no major issues with it. With this build we hope you catched some of the techniques and ways we have of building here. Now your task will be to build other houses in the style of different locations in our server, but this time instead of copying you will have to come up with a design of your own based on the characteristics of the area we tell you.

Your next challenge will be to build a farmer's house in the style of /warp sdham1, with a yard. You can also check /warp sdham2 or /warp sdham3 for additional inspo, they all follow the same style. Once you are done you can upload some screenshots here and I will evaluate them as soon as I can. Have fun!

I'm really excited to have another historian in Westeroscraft! And also with a wonderful name as Azulejo :D

Okay, I will do the work as soon as possible and will reply to this message with the screenshots, if you don't mind.

Thank you very much for your time!

Overall good job! I have little to say, most of it you'll see are minor points. I quite like the look of it, and I love that you added a small retaining wall made of wood at the yard. One small tip:if you want to upload more than 10 pics per challenge you can use imgur.com, an image hosting site. Many builder applicants use it, you can check other apps and see it. Having said that, now I will go over in more detail giving you my feeback:
  • My main critic is not execution but style: sdham1, as well as sdham2 and sdham3 don't have houses with that steep of a roof. Most of them if not all are 45º (all stairs). Yours should have it like that too.
  • The house seems a bit too thin. 3 blocks-wide interiors are very tight, and would be rare or special. For a house like this I'd say at minimun interiors should be 4 blocks. Specially given that the house is on a diagonal, which makes it so that at the point where the angle changes the width is of barely 2 blocks.
  • The stone gradient at the front of the house is a bit plain. You've done nicely at the back (yard side) of the house, so I won't go into detail on that regard.
For your next challenge go to /warp GhostHill and build a house with a profession and a yard. Good luck and have fun!

First of all, I'm sorry for not doing the previous task well. I will be more attentive to the details. I'll give you the link to my imgur account with the images of the new house. The profession I have chosen is that of bakers. The lore is that they are a petit bourgeois family with a certain economic capacity. The store that is closed is another business, but the store belongs to the family. I hope you like it!

Oh please don't be sorry! You didn't fail anything, you are learning the way we build it is expected you don't get everything right the first time. Having said that, wonderful build! I have barely anything to say about it. As some of the heads behing Ghost Hill's town I would be very pleased if this house was on it.
  • My only comment is that as of now some of the plastered walls look a bit plain. There's several walls inside and outside that would need some gradienting.
For your next challenge go to /warp Duskendale and build a high class house with a profession and a yard. You will recognize them by their general fanciness, use of expensive materials like glass, big size and particular professions. The nothern side of the city as well as the area around the sept has plenty high class houses. Good luck and have fun!

Here I have it! The family's profession is that of merchants of silk and luxury cloth. The house has a kitchen with a cellar; on the first floor, the dining room and an office; in the second, the living room, the master bedroom, the eldest daughter's bedroom and the youngest son's bedroom. The attic is divided into two, one part is for the servants and the upper part is used as a storage room. The garden has apple trees, a well and a pig stable.

I'm sorry if I haven't detailed the environment more this time. I hope you like it!

(I realized I hadn't detailed the back of the house. I leave an image with the current version)

Gourgeous build Aferys! I don't think I have much to comment, you nailed the style! I think it's time for you to get to the next stage. Anything new to learn would be much easier to do ingame, with a more active imput. Consider yourself approved :D!

Next time you get online ask an available moderator (those with red names) to promote you, and before that make sure to read the New Builders' Guide. There you will find useful information regarding your new role as a "probie", as we like to call it, as well as everything you need to know and do during this time, like opening a Probation Thread. Once all that is done your Probation will begin.

Just like I did here with your app, a probation leader will step up and take you as their "probie". They will judge your builds and guide you, giving you feedback, tips and tricks. Think of it as an extension of your Builder Application, but much more engaged, and hopefully even more fruitful! On top of learning more of our ways of building you will also get a good grip on how we manage builds and the community as a whole, as well as engaiging with other members of it, something I encourage you to do. Out of those little interactions you will learn a lot, trust me! Feedback can come from anyone in the server, so be willing to listen to what they have to say, with time you may end up on their spot hehehe.

To start building you can look at the dynamap in our website and toggle the "Open Plot" option, go to /warp build, check the forums for the most recent active projects or ask any online members around for open building spots. Also don't forget to ask any moderator online for a plot of your own at the Test World (aka Testeros), where you will be able to practise your builds.

Congrats and welcome to the team!

Thank you very much for the opportunity, Azulejo! :D I will try to do my best on the server.

I will read everything carefully.

Thank again
