The Spring 2023 edition of The Rookery is now out! Take a look to see the latest builds, guides, progress and development updates on the upcoming 1.18.2 switch. You can read it here:
I suggested the WIP application and in situ completion as it'd help me flesh out the terrain and structures nearby so I can have Stage 1 of the project complete.
I give this my project lead approval but I need one approving mod
Would like to say that those silos pictured have been replaced by an even more confusing grain kiln! What we could possibly do as another option is a grittier sand to straddle the pebble-sand transition and thus be usable in Dorne while still looking like grain
Looking nice Walrus!
Only things I'd like to point out is that the style has a stair detailing at the edge of the roofline to make it look like it has a very shallow eave and that try not to use 1 block wide chests often. they're a little bit too ornate for their size and also a strange...
Alrighty! the clay colour is fine, its meant to be red.
Now, I'm loving the ints and exts except for two things; gradients and the hemp.
-We have a hanging herb block for dangling herb bunches. it's got rope at the top of the texture so it seems connected. The hemp textures don't have this...
Alrighty so overall this is quite nice. Just a few details here and there to fix which I'm sure can be improved upon during probation.
-Try to use something other than hoppers if a table or bench is 1 block wide. Stairs work fine.
-If you're doing a stair-slab-stair jetty/support pattern...
Nice work and I'm impressed by this one. Only thing i've got to note is how the staircase could be supported a bit better by having the halfdoor divider next to it, rather than across the corridor from it. The other point is with the distaff, you could put nrownish white plaster on it to make it...
Imo the watchtower is a bit too wide and needs more in the way of attendant buildings, maybe some small veggie patches etc. Also this is the side of the island that will be thrashed a bit by the storms passing over Cape Wrath so it'd be pretty dangerous to try docking here. The guards would...
Loving the pics and tests. I'll paste them in when I have a chance tonight or tomorrow morning. It gladdens my heart to see some posting on this thread other than from myself, Iron and ContraBlonde.
Also I'll be opening a small shieling + walled beehive mini in the hills between darkdell and...
Hey Kuhl, so sorry for the wait. I'll be speedier in responding to you from now on. Exteriors are looking good! Especially you're work with the gradienting. Just put a cap on top of the chimney. A slab would work, for instance reach brick or even stone brick would be fine. I've got a few notes...
Mountains gradient and stone mix notwithstanding (pending new blocks and 1.18), I'm ready to post approve this project. Good luck with Greenstone and with any future projects you're applying for.
Iwan
I had written a response and for some reason the draft disappeared. You're getting there with the ints and the exts are doing quite well, but there's still a few things to watch out for.
The room in the last image needs something to use the upper space for. Even a small loft could work nicely...
Alrighty! I like the layout you've gone for with the central stair and work-kitchen space pretty well divided. Nice work with the style. I've only got two things to note for feedback.
-The bedside table where the smith is could be two less ornate blocks, like stairs, cabinets, drawers etc. Even...
Okay so here are my points
-for the ceiling under workshop annex, you need to have slabs beside the stairs to support the roof. it can't just be bare thatch undersides
-Don't have heavy containers like chests and crates up in a loft accessible by ladder only unless there's a crane. Plus, only...
Heya,
Feedback provided in game.
-reduce the clutter. Sometimes having a more open room is better than having each corner filled by stuff.
-Keep crates in industrial or workshop spaces.
-Shared some improved ideas for looms.
Next Challenge is a Hammerhal potter.
Hi Walrus! You've done a good job with the gradient the house style in general. In particular I like how you've completed the sometimes tricky ceiling design.
However, there are a few points for improvement as well as what looks like a building typo.
In the 7th image, the roofline on the left...
