I've updated the last bunch of banners with some more toned down colors that should hopefully better match the existing palette.

I did actually start with the red banner and the cream Faith banner palettes, but in any case I was just brainstorming and agree that it would probably create more problems than it would solve. I think if they were to work it would have to be like thatch, where there's a classic block texture...

ta-da In theory they could work the same as ornate marble blocks, but I can't imagine that large carpets would be too practical since you wouldn't be able to place any furniture blocks on top of them.

I'll have a go at some designs, the symmetry should make it pretty straightforward.

Hey Waz, sorry I’ve been AWOL lately, I’ve actually just gotten back from 3 weeks overseas as well as juggling another art project on the side that has a deadline this weekend. I definitely plan to be back in game within the next few days.

This looks really good! I'd played around with shading to that extent but wasn't sure how the mods felt about that level of depth/realism. Certainly doable though.

Test of Arryn banner 1st is just the plain light blue wool texture, 2nd is the plain wool with some extra shading. 3rd is the wool with the hue and brightness shifted a little bit.

Revised Tarly and Tyrell banners On the point about matching the wool palettes, I'm not convinced there's enough variety in them to do all the designs justice. It would really limit the ability to add depth to the more complicated ones, and tbh I don't think the visual continuity is that...

Thanks, hmm there was no deliberate intention to omit the crownlands houses, I just went off the list of in the Appendix which groups them by their respective Great Houses. I think I put most of the crownlands houses under Baratheon and Stannis, but let me know if there's any notable ones...

This was more or less my impression, if the House has notable mentions in the books or are otherwise acknowledged in canon as controlling significant territory I don't see an issue. Besides I think we've already made decent progress, we've now got banners for: Banefort, Belmore, Bolton, Caron...

Some more banner tests. I'll just keep updating this post as I chip through the AWOIAF's list of notable houses. Honestly it's no trouble to make these, I don't even mind if I make one and it's later decided they're not large enough to warrant their own banner. May as well have a go now while...
