Merry Christmas everyone!
Here's a quick gallery of all the creative festivities our community has made this holiday season. Make sure to visit /warp christmas2018 to check all this work out for yourself.
Cash's latest crazy texture idea:
Wooden carpet textures on the bottom of baskets
I've noticed that it's not uncommon for builders to put baskets on top of gates to make it look like they're on top of shelves. This isn't too bad, but obviously not ideal since it's not clear what the basket is...
My big takeaway from Fire & Blood was the extent of the destruction wrought by Aegon during the first Dornish wars. Reducing a half dozen of Wyl’s keeps and watchtowers to molten stone would leave a scar on the land which would be important to reflect in the project.
If I could have my time with Wull again I would go with a rounder style of sod roof like we see in these pics. Worth a thought for anyone thinking about one of the other clans
Great to see you back Winter Crow. You've really nailed the White Harbor style, well done.
Overall everything looks good, you've shown some nice restraint with the types of blocks used, and the house fits the middle class and is architecturally interesting. I'm curious about what that wheel is...
Yes I did, as I said the preferred style for alpine regions is to only have snow layer blocks on top of full snow blocks. If there was a snow layer block above a terrain set block, the gradient mask was applied, if it was too steep the snow layer was deleted, if it wasn't the terrain block...
Hey Jakey. I re-did the WE for the whole area as part of finishing up Shadow Tower. The prevailing terra style for alpine regions is to avoid the placement of snow layer blocks on top of terrain blocks. Snow blocks (with snow layers on top of them) are painted on to the mountains replacing the...
Great job cedo!
Im also putting together a dumb Christmas theme park at /warp santaland if anyone wants to help build rides/giftshops/reindeer petting zoos
Think like a budget Santa themed Disney land but with a nice snowy Christmas village
Hey guys, when you have a chance, to help with the final approvals could you do a quick list of all the finished elements of the project now ready for feedback, e.g:
Shadow Tower
Watch tower 1
Watch tower 2
etc
(updating the map with the final locations of everything would be helpful too)...
The last village is coming together
The next big task will be finishing the trails connecting all the settlements. I'm curious about mod thoughts on how much/if any dirt should be used in the mix.
Yeah I looked at that kind stuff but the canons pretty clear about the creatures being painted, but in any case the knots are super hard haha. Settled on something that was emulating this kind of style.
Here's my stab at the kraken v leviathan centre piece mural
If we like the incorporation of viking knot patterns I'll incorporate that into the other mural tests
Hey Rakdar,
This is awesome work and we gladly encourage any fans of the world of ASOIAF to contribute to the server. It's certainly a shame you don't have the time to become a builder at the moment, (enthusiasm is the only skill we require) but you should certainly consider it if your schedule...
No worries, there’s no rush so defintiely focus on those exams!
Updating or re-installing this launcher usually does the trick for connectivity issues but let me know if you’re still having trouble.
