The Spring 2023 edition of The Rookery is now out! Take a look to see the latest builds, guides, progress and development updates on the upcoming 1.18.2 switch. You can read it here:
Heya, the texture looks cool! Imo the angle of the striations on the blue ice block should be closer to 30 degrees rather than 45. It'll look better with how the Wall was constructed from blocks of ice too.
Request: More Ice Blocks
Request Type: Unique Addition (specific to a build, region, or culture)
Describe the use of this block in said build, region, or culture. How is it unique? To the best of your knowledge how could it be used in a different context?
By adding a greater range of...
I love the Kevin Catalan image of them being more lion-y than just an alligator. I'd always assumed they'd sit somewhere in between an alligator and a large water monitor (like komodo dragons or goannas). Considering they're a food source for the crannogmen, could we have a block thats a lizard...
The heavy quilt with fur trim on the NW bed is because of the freezing temperatures by the Wall. The noble bed texture could perhaps be roughened a bit to not look so nice.
The NW used to have far greater numbers so I doubt they'd be running out of furs and quilts to pile onto beds. That's not...
A possible solution to issue 1 is to cycle the fences so that they connect on smaller tree models where it's most noticeable.
And on uthors point, surely a leafy bush block would come in the main eaf varieties and then be effected by biome colours.
We can't really exchange spruce leaves (often...
I wouldn't recolour them if we can have a separate texture. Already it'd be great to have a bramble leaves block (blackberries, thorns etc) + something leafy but dead like this without being marcescent leaves.
I think there was also the idea of having thatch patterns like crescent circles and cross cross patterns on it that got voiced a while back. Because it's been brought up in server chat I thought it'd be good to create a place to discuss it here.
Heya, reposting this from another thread.
Cool idea for a dedicated thatch block that sits in between dark and light thatch. Always sloping downwards if made into a roof like the tile slab blocks.
I think geeberry might want to discuss it.
Just to state for the record, I did say that Awb could continue making changes to the copy on the production server to address the feedback. That's not an indication that Starcat has made a decision about the mini yet
EDITED
I admit I was over dramatic with the first few lines of that message but the critique I think is justified. There's stuff you have done well/interestingly but only so much I could write before bed last night.
I was aware you'd changed the kitchen before any requests were made to keep...
There was an amazing summer kitchen/bakery in the wooden annex to the manor. This also had a lot of storage
The storage is similar, though the inclusion of goods which need cool storage and working like meat and cheese are great. The roofbeams are kept the same, following the idea of the more...
I don't understand the thought process behind a lot of the changes to Antlersmanor
The solution to finishing off a room for cooler kitchen activities like butter churning + small meatstore was...
Before:
After:
.... to turn it into a pot single shelf pot storage + dark meat cellar with a stone...
Relation to House Gardener is also what legitimises some houses so maybe in the cellar of Crayne, Peake and so one there could be some. Also House Manderly would display them as part of the Order of the Green Hand
Just swapping the leaves and bark of the weirwood would be enough.
Considering the migratory nature of many Umber peoples, I'd think they'd have weirwoods at a seasonal settlement site rather than the fortification. Since a summer or winter croft would be more important culturally.
That's...
Second on this. The ints were of a high standard with sensible layout already, so the wheel doesn't have to be reinvented. In fact, I'd been using the interiors of the whole mini as a good reference to anyone wanting to do noble/wealthy structures and how to use space appropriately. Love your...
