The Spring 2023 edition of The Rookery is now out! Take a look to see the latest builds, guides, progress and development updates on the upcoming 1.18.2 switch. You can read it here:
Hey Allisgood,
Thanks for finishing this HG house, it's looking very nice.
Just a couple of notes:
- with the roof edges, when using tiles we generally add wooden stairs/half doors beneath them instead of double layering the tiles.
Here's an example in HG town
- No need for the chimney to...
Thanks Allisgood,
This White Harbor house is looking good, and you've made a fun design for the internal boat dock.
Just a few small notes:
- We try to avoid using trapdoors since they can opened/closed by guests. You can swap them with half-doors.
- We also try to add roof-rafters to the...
Confirming the first 4 Wall castles have now completed their updates, Stonedoor, Torches, Hoarfrost Hill and Longbarrow have now had their updates completed. Thanks to Rex, Finn and Auscarbone!
Hey Allisthegod, thanks for completing this Tarbeck house.
On the whole you've done a nice job, the shape, look and feel of the house is largely consistent with the Tarbeck style.
I'd only suggest a few changes to make it a little more consistent with how we normally build/furnish low class...
Westeros is currently in summer at the time of the server IIRC, so would we take that to mean these 13 scars would be dry/not bleeding any sap? Could add a bit of residue though I guess.
Would be cool if all the stone blocks used at Harrenhal could CTM blend with coal/volcanic/valyrian stone for the melted sections (or maybe we could use a Melted Harrenhal Stone block that can super CTM too).
Hi Allisthegod,
Thanks for completing this application and great to see another Aussie interested in joining the team.
Nice work with replicating the application house, as I hope you can tell we try to put as much detail and signs of life as we can into our houses. Hopefully through this...
Hey Steven,
Well done with this Boat Builder. I really like the creativity with showing the wooden beams getting bent, that's the kind of in-universe detail we try to add to give each built it's own character. I don't have much feedback as I think you've captured all the important elements. All...

Looks good Scub! I think it makes sense to make the keep seem a little more polished/modern given it's the most recent Wall castle built and they had the cash to do it nicely.
Seems logical too that some kind of engineering flawd motivated them to choose Castle Black over Deep Lake as the...
Hey Scub!
We've had a chat and can confirm this redo appeal is approved!
Main caveat is that it would be great if the new plans for Deep Lake could include removal of the south side lake, and adding it (or another one of similar size) over to the north side, and accompanying terra to get...
Thanks for the work so far everyone, looks like everyone's made good progress. Before doing final sign off I've just got some general notes worth keeping in mind that I didn't include in the original post.
- It looks good to use snow layers to indicate where wooden rooflines/planks are sagging...
Great to see you returning to Icemark jmc! Please go ahead and make a start in Test. That overpass you flagged for removal could be replaced with stone, or you potentially try a completely collapsed wooden version.
Really like your ideas for Sablehall too Horthausen, happy for you to make a...
Thanks Rex, looks good to copy to test and make a start. Would suggest adding more signs of rubble/collapsed roof to the top of that tower in particular as well.
Once it's ready to paste back in it might be worth adding some more trees nearby to suggest the castle's a useful source of wood for...
Thanks for the quick interest Finn. Feel free to make start on the update over in Test. JohanKR850 was online not too long ago so we'll give him a chance to chime in before copying the updated version back to the main map when you're done.
Since this is the first test case for a Wall Castle update, I'm very open to suggestions here but just keep in mind that this isn't supposed to be a remake or a redo. We're just improving what's already there.
