Beyond what Dork said, you will need to own an account for the java version of minecraft. There is a different one around for the xBox and Windows10 (called bedrock?) which - afaik - requires purchasing separate versions of the game.

JourneyMap looking in the wrong folders is exactly my suspicion, too, but I have not managed to get it to display previously cached data. I need to look into it again when I get the time.
We've tried to troubleshoot this issue before deployment but couldn't solve it, which is why we offer an alternative map service in the mod pack/launcher now. I'd be interested in that one incident when it did map something for you. If that happens again, please save the launcher's console...
I agree with relabeling these blocks to their rock types, and creating 'terrain sets' in form of block/rock types fit for a region. That way we can still create distinguishable and unique landscape for each region, and we give ourselves more a bit more liberty in how these are textured.
