The Spring 2023 edition of The Rookery is now out! Take a look to see the latest builds, guides, progress and development updates on the upcoming 1.18.2 switch. You can read it here:
I will not be doing any further tweaking. Attached you'll find the texture as shown above, implemented on the Oak Fence.
With this I'm considering this done and delivered.
Hey _Simbaa,
Thanks for your request! I definitely think our "cabbage blocks" could need an update for several reasons:
- They are Block Entities (tile entities) and thus take up more data than regular blocks
- Because of that they are tricky to place with WE which leads to somewhat hacky...
Just chiming in from the sidelines here!
Farming would take place on lands further away from the rivers but near settlements, pasture/ dairy land would happen right by the river yet farther away from settlements, mining would also happen on or near the hills (away from the groundwater level)...
Veggie let me know today that the general mood is that while the textures are good they differ too much. Hence, I've applied that exact same color without further tweaking to the existing Doku textures in the pack below.
With that, I'll conclude my work on the pink stones. Emoticone11 let me...
I tried to go for this:
My constraint was to only add a single "erosion" block, but that turns out to be impossible or I fucked up somewhere:
- I tried a 4-block tall repeat CTM which doesn't work because the pattern isn't relative to the block placement but rather relative to the global grid...
CashBanks before you dive into this. Could we work out a way to 3Dify the clothesline a bit more? I have some ideas that I'd like to prototype before you get started. Also in response to the issues related to random CTM, I have some possible solutions there too.
Since some example pics are...
The basic textures for 3 different sizes of pink blocks are now at least prototyped.
Next up: A texture to represent erosions and maybe one for decorative elements.
I appreciate that you’re open to adding these, in principle! That’s a good basis for discussion. I don’t feel too motivated to doku-ify my style simply for the sake of making it work “right now”, when at a later point in time I would overhaul all textures anyways. I am however open to...
I wonder if it makes any difference at all to decide to add a whole new colour in the first place. I'd argue that it doesn't really. Moreover, according to Veggie's specifications, these additions don't need to be used in palettes with other blocks as they are fairly limited due to canon hence I...
Yeah, I mentioned that I was reluctant to get involved in a larger Kingswood effort. I'm happy to advise maybe even implement simple modifications to my existing scripts but the major planning effort would have to be done my someone else. And it seems that project is a bit bigger than Langward...
Thanks for the example pics! You have successfully and inadvertently convinced me that we need better random CTM on those tiles. I'll make some designs later!
I've also updated the upside down stairs and slab now to reflect this:
Needs some tweaks still. Download is available below!

Small but really significant update. Placing small pink brick double slabs next to the biggest variants will now in-fill the small pink brick into the bigger variants. This confirms the possibility of adding quoins of pink brick to any other material. See the attached .mp4!
I also made the...
I've been giving the pink stone a go. I've had permission to revamp our basic doku stone textures for it so here's what I have:
It's a heavy work in progress but essentially the plan is thus:
So in the reference pics I see roughly three sizes of stone blocks/ “bricks: small, mid, and large...
