Approved Project Application: House Cobb by InvertedWinger and JJLyric

Hey Inv! Just wanted to check up on the status of your post-approval edits? Let me know if I can be of assistance with anything.

So I fed a screenshot of Stonedance into Midjourney...

That's sick! Mind sharing what prompt your brother used? Could be a fun Rookery idea to have photorealistic renders of various projects: "WesterosCraft reimagined" or something like that

Block Change Request: new orange brick blocks for a brick palette

Not too shabby Waz! Could you post the 32x32 image tile as well? BTW, I experimented with converting the current brick blocks to light mortar a while back, but found that it didn't play very nicely with the other blocks in the pack given the overall shading style.

    Plutten4 Builder Application

This looks better, nice work! A minor piece of feedback - the mud and pebbles in the ground mix still looks a bit too messy; try to make "blobs" of mud instead of single blocks, and use gradients to transition them with normal dirt. I think you'll learn more at this point as a probie builder...

    Plutten4 Builder Application

Hey Plutten, Apologies for the delay - really nice work on this challenge! It's a difficult style and you pulled it off pretty well. And I'm glad you noticed and fixed the issue with the roof on your own; it definitely looks a lot better in the second version. I do have a bit of feedback to...

    Block Requests - Discussion

Personally I use Photoshop, but GIMP is a good free alternative. Here's one resource I'm familiar with: https://mcmodels.net/how-to-tutorials/blockbench-tutorials/minecraft-modelling-texturing-tips/ Going to ping Thamus_Knoward so he can share some of his resources (if he can find a bit of...

    Block Requests - Discussion

Since I've basically been the main person responsible for working on the texture pack for the last several years, I'll give my input here, though of course I don't mean to stifle discussion around how we can improve the development process. The elephant in the room As I think most people know...

    Plutten4 Builder Application

Hey Plutten, Fantastic work on this house, you're catching on pretty quickly! You did a nice job with the stone gradient and detailing this time. Here's some of the feedback I have: - Old Anchor uses a "no overhang" style on the rooves, so the roof should actually be cut off on the...

    Plutten4 Builder Application

Hey Plutten, Great work on this house! It looks like you hit all the major aspects of the Tor style. I just have a few minor points of feedback to give: - The gradient could still use some improvement, as it's a bit too visually noisy. Instead of having small large patches of the "arbor light...

    Plutten4 Builder Application

Hey Plutten, Sorry about the wait - no need to add the "you know nothing" line each time, I've just been pretty busy. But feel free to bump if it's been 5 days. First, I noticed that the exteriors of this house are almost identical to the one in Woodwright here: I'll give you benefit of...

Under Review Redo Appeal: Houses Follard and Chyttering

Yup that's right. In a nutshell, currently you have multiple "fingers" of rock along the coasts resembling a wave-cut platform (like the one that was made at Ghost Hill), but I don't feel it fits very well with the style of headlands and coves that you're otherwise going for. I think it would...

Under Review Redo Appeal: Houses Follard and Chyttering

Sorry, my bad. I gave some to you in-game a while back, but never followed up on the forums. I'll try to get that to you whenever I find some time.

    Plutten4 Builder Application

Hey Plutten, This looks pretty good, you got all of the details for the most part, although there are a couple very minor issues: the fireplace should use "grey wood half door" on either side, and also the birch half door under the table should be flush with the table (i.e., directly under it)...

Block Change Request: Arbor light stone sets

This is subsumed by this thread BTW: https://forum.westeroscraft.com/threads/block-change-request-improving-plaster-palettes.3019/

Approved Project Application: House Cobb by InvertedWinger and JJLyric

One thing that would help with the foliage mix from the technical side is first using larger-scale, lower-frequency Perlin noise (I assume you used Perlin for the current mix?) to create some masks, and then use whatever smaller-scale noise you had initially used within those masks. This way the...

    Plutten4 Builder Application

Hey plutten, Thanks for your application, and glad to see your interest in helping out with the project! This house seems like a good foundation for tackling the medieval style, and the overall shape and proportions seem solid. However, there are a number of details in the exterior and...

Withdrawn Project Application: House Slate of Blackpool

I wouldn't take this as necessarily a sign of disapproval BTW. Mods lead busy lives, and it's easy to overlook applications and updates. Sometimes you have to be a bit assertive (while respectful of our time ofc) to get people to look at the app and give opinions (and go over stuff in-game with...

What's the overall progress of the new King's landing ?

Here's a map that we update periodically: Stage 1-3 are different stages of approval and fine-tuning, but are all essentially complete.
