I was honestly just googling stuff about ASoIaF geography and came across an old article about the server and it seemed crazy cool

Way too many to list fully, but Lord of the Rings, Legend of Zelda, Princess Bride, Harry Potter, etc

Game of Thrones
Clash of Kings

All of the above

If I had to choose, probably Jon Snow. He's a genuinely good guy who keeps having crappy things just kind of happen to him, but he's learned to roll with the punches and start giving them back. He knows the right thing to do but it seems like every step of the way he has to fight to get everyone else to see it too and I respect the hustle. Also he's like a lost puppy every time something changes and I love that he's just like "Oh, well this is happening now, k"

Uhhhhhhh I'm great at witty banter and general moodlifting? Not sure if that counts.

I'm also a musician so maybe I could help with that original music project I saw on the forum

I'm a huge fan of ASoIaF and whenever I get into a series I like to imagine exploring the world myself. With WesterosCraft, I can literally do that. I've already spent a few days wandering the server and looking at the cool builds and it was pretty inspiring to see so much team effort and skill paying off, and I want to be a part of that

You know nothing, Jon Snow

Hi System,

Thanks for submitting an application! It’s great that you’re interested in joining the community!

I have a couple of bits of feedback on your first build:

- Firstly, when building floors, consider the rafters to support ceiling and floor above. A good way to achieve this is to use upside-down wooden stairs and slabs to create alternate beams which makes a ceiling more interesting, and simultaneously gives support to the floor above!

- There seems to be a lot of red lanterns in your build, and these really should only be used to denote brothels. We have a normal lantern block that may be more sufficient. There’s also a lot of them throughout the house, and I’d limit them to one or two within a building of this size. Also make sure they’re not floating, and either have support from the ceiling or are sitting firmly on a table.

- The Kitchen furnace needs a chimney to remove the smoke, otherwise, it’ll all come straight out the front of the furnace and fill the house! Think about chimney placement in the early stages of house planning, so you can make sure to get it in the perfect place!

- The Walls are 2 meters thick in places, so think about utilising different blocks to make a more dynamic facade. For example, try using the dornish screen on the inside, and then the terracotta arrow slit on the outer wall.

- Interiors seem a little sparse and some rooms are a little ill-furnished. With so many dynamic blocks at our disposal, try not to use construction blocks such as ‘oak wood planks’ as a table.

- Remember that books were incredibly expensive, and the literacy of people in medieval times was very limited, so consider how many bookcases you put in a house.

- Try using upturned stairs to create archways for doors, especially in Dornish builds. This will help to avoid your house looking too ‘minecrafty’ with square doorways.

Altogether, these are pretty minor changes, and the house is a nice one. For your first challenge build, please build a middle class house in the style of /warp whiteharbour. As before, please build your house in single player and post the screenshots for us to take a look!

Good Luck!

Hi System, thanks for posting your gallery! I have a few bits of feedback:

- The palette is a nice start, but don’t be scared to make the cobble a bit more concentrated rather than on the edges. Try mixing it up near windows, or other weak points of the building. Sometimes the white plaster will still find its way around the corners.

- The chimney could do with a little more gradient, and perhaps add some chimney pots at the top. A flat ended chimney like that would cause a lot of smoke to pour out in all directions. Chimney pots help to keep the smoke in a straight line, expelling it neatly.

- The interiors are nice, and it seems like you have lots of specialist rooms which help create real realism, however I have a couple of points. Firstly, in the attic rooms, you can see the exposed slate. Roofs and ceilings need to be fully supported from the inside. Take a look at some of the houses in White Harbour and you’ll see that they use upturned stairs and half walls to line the inside of the roof, and sometimes add supporting rafters to keep the roof up. Exposed slate without support would fall into the building and the roof would collapse. Please bear this in mind with all projects.

- In the garden, I’d recommend you use a little more variation in the floor materials. Using mud/dirt/gravel to create paths in your yards, or areas that are often used, is important. It’s unlikely, especially in a cold, harsh climate such as that in White Harbour to have a full garden of lush grass.

Altogether this is a nice house, and you’ve certainly captured some of the notable style guide components in the area. Nicely done!

For your second challenge, please build a middle/high class house in the style of /warp Sweetport; preferably one with a trade such as a mercer, or a merchant, etc.

Good Luck!
