Welcome to the team, Arton!
I will be your probie leader!
I'll get to your homes as soon as I can get on.
I do want to a note a few things I think help improve all builds beforehand though
.
- Think logically about everything. Put yourself in peasantry, nobility etc. shoes.
- Don't fill space for the sake of it. If you're an artsy person you may know that white space isn't a misuse of the space. This can be applied to homes and yards.
- People had to eat to live, if you have a yard it should be filled with plentiful sources of food
- Try to tell a story with your homes (makes them more fun to decorate too!)
- Hall way builds should be avoided. For example, if you have a 3x7 interior (not exterior) don't push everything to the side.
- Make friends, many people find their place in this community not by building by by engaging with the community. If you fly around test, its a testament to the goofy things we do and I personally find great joy in seeing it. Friendship and engagement help create an atmosphere you feel comfortable to participate in.
Lastly, my big thing as a probie leader is to see you're listening to feedback. I'm not always right, and rather people often call me out for being wrong or misguided in my critique, which is totally fair, throw everything I say out the window once this is over. But I think that being able to apply someones advice or input we disagree with helps us grow. I've definitely changed things to a way I don't like, but it helped define my preferences and reasoning. Feedback is a constantly flowing thing on the server and helps us improve both our builds but also our ability to stand behind our choices.
I generally like to do things in game 1 on 1 but it seems our schedules don't align (I'm at work during the time you make all these posts). So let me know if you prefer melons, or forum posts. Whatever makes you most comfortable. Or we can try to schedule a time that works for both of us! I believe being able to communicate with one another about a house and explain our opinions and reasons is the most beneficial form of critique.
Best of luck, hope you're having fun! Can't wait to see what you bring to the table, I'm sure it's awesome!
