13-16

In what country are you living?
Slovenia

Where did you first hear about WesterosCraft?
Youtube

What do you like the most about GoT/ASoIaF?
I really GoT, because it has lots of characters, each of them has a very detailed personality, it has lots of different castles, towns, cities, (the world map is huge). I also like the fact that its placed in time that is similar to medieval age. My favourite character in Game of Thrones is Jon Snow.

What is your favorite build on our server?
My favourite build on the server is King`s landing. It is enormous and has a lot of houses. I really like the Red Keep, because it has a lot of details.

Why do you want to join our server?
I want to join WesterosCraft, because i am a huge fan of both, GoT and Minecraft. I like building big castles and cities.

Tell us about your build.
I built a small city house made of stone, with wooden roof. It is blacksmith`s house, with two stories. It can house two people. I chose the combination of wood and stone, because they are the most common materials for building houses in Westeros.

Hi Janzzy,

Thanks for taking the time to apply to join the build team!

Sadly, the house you've applied with isn't appropriate for our server, but I'm sure you'd be able to get to that point with some guidance.

It's difficult to provide feedback as the house you've built isn't in our server 'style'

As such please do check out a project on the server, and build something in the style you find there. /warp duskendale and /warp woodwright would be good places to start.

Post the pictures here once you've built your server style build here, and we can proceed with some build challenges!

All the best, and good luck,

Veggie

Hey Janzzy,

You've made your first step in the right direction, however have unfortunately missed the mark in building something appropriate on the server.

Exterior feedback;

  • Keep your darker blocks (in this case the cobblestone) at the base of your building, with the lighter blocks at the top.
  • I'm not a fan of ornate arrow slit windows on low class serf houses.
  • I wouldn't overhang your straw roof, it makes the roof look very heavy and substantial in comparison to the building itself.
  • I'd rather you didn't feel you had to add some exterior interest than not do it fully.
  • Too many windows-- medieval houses would've been difficult to heat, every window is an opportunity for heat to escape.

Interior feedback;

  • Don't be afraid to fill the space. It's good to do what you've done, have areas for sleeping, for eating, food preparation etc. but try and blend the spaces into one 'lived in' space.
  • Throw some rushes (thatch blocks) on the floor to make the house feel more lived in.
  • Cover the underside of your roof with wood or some kind of structure which suggests the roof isn't just floating. It looks like you started to do this and then stopped.
  • Bring the mezzanine level down a block or two-- that's a long ladder climb just to get up to bed!

Hope this is some useful feedback for you, don't be disheartened.

Your next challenge is to build something you'd find at /warp therillsvillage

Best of luck
