it is not letting me log in

whenever i open up the launcher and try log into my minecraft account, it says my password is invalid. ive reset it and it still doesnt work. Just wanted to know if i need a specific version of minecraft, as i run windows 10

are you using your minecraft name or email to log in? because you need to use your email. If you are using your email to log in then Idk what else to try im sure someone else would love to help.

Beyond what Dork said, you will need to own an account for the java version of minecraft. There is a different one around for the xBox and Windows10 (called bedrock?) which - afaik - requires purchasing separate versions of the game.
