Description
House Herston is located in south cape Wrath between House Horpe and The Weepingtown in the Stormlands.
Features
House Herston, a tranquil seat on the rugged southern coast of the Stormlands, braves the elements and the dangers that threaten from the sea. The region, known as Cape Wrath, presents itself as a gently rolling grassland, a patchwork of fertile fields and vast pastures where cattle and sheep graze. To the north, the lands of House Herston border those of House Bolling, to the east the bustling town of Weeping Town, and to the west the possessions of House Horpe.
The coast of Cape Wrath is lined with long, dazzling white beaches, which provide the local villagers with a livelihood through fishing. Inland, farms with extensive fields dominate the landscape, while in the east, a larger village serves as a trading center. Travelers moving from Weeping Town to Stonehelm offer their wares here or stock up on supplies.
In the heart of the region stands the castle of House Herston, a modest stronghold that serves as the residence of the Lord and his family. Further west, amidst a marshy landscape created by a dam, lies the keep of Ser Greenpools, a vassal of House Herston. His name derives from the green pools that form in the surrounding area during rain. Ser Greenpools serves House Herston as the administrator of the western lands and is responsible for their defense.
On the westernmost edge of the region rises a house of worship, led by devout servants of the Seven Gods. Here, the residents of the surrounding area find solace and spiritual nourishment. Along the coast, watchtowers and outposts stretch, warning of the constant threats from pirates and Dornish raiders. To counter these dangers, the Lords of Cape Wrath have developed a sophisticated warning system: upon sighting enemy ships, signal fires are lit along the coast, giving the Lord enough time to mobilize his troops and repel the attackers.
The castle of House Herston is a small castle.
Construction
I startet to get Rod of the Rainwood. The problem with south Cape wrath was that it’s a broad plains in canon. The rainwood was all over south cape Wrath even at the coast.
After that I mad a flat plains and startet to work on the beaches and cliffs. I plotted the village and started working on the castle and the hf. I opened several minis to different builders. At least Tobi did a grass script for me.
Inspiration
The inspiration for the Stormlands where large Eastern Europe farm houses. The area around south cape wrath produces a lot of Food for the surrounding areas.
For the Castle I don’t had a specific Inspiration.
