Where did you first hear about WesterosCraft?
Searched online

What do you like the most about GoT/ASoIaF?
I have always been a huge fan of how George R.R. Martin incorporates real history within the fantasy world of Westeros. I am a huge history nerd and love the highly detailed worlds of Westeros and Westeroscraft.

What is your favorite build on our server?
I'm a bit partial since my wife, seashellbs, and I used to build on the server for a couple or years. We took over the build Donniger (originally Upcliff) in its early stages and built it into what we think is a top notch build on the server. Other than my own, I love the look and feel of White Harbour. the streets come to life in builds like that one.

Why do you want to join our server?
I have been missing this community and this world for way too long. Now that I'm in a more stable time in my life, I would love to get back into this server with my wife and continue to help push this world to its absolute limits as far as detail and world building goes. I have had a lot of experience with tiny homes all the way to massive builds with villages and castles. Even a few specific builds like the Apple Cideries in Appleton and as previously mentioned, the entire Finger that Donniger lies on.

Hey Fish,

Welcome back! Always nice to see some oldheads coming back :)

The apphouse looks good! Hope it was helpful for learning some of the new building techniques since you were last active. Just one minor detail, we now have "timber window frame" blocks that are now typically used for windows (although the empty block + shutter style of window is still used in some circumstances).

I'll give a couple challenge builds just to catch you up to speed with the newest styles. For the first one, please make a middle-class house in the style of /warp oatown. Let me know if you've got any questions, good luck!

Hello!

Finally got my build finished up!

Below is attached the Middle Class house in the style of /warp oatown. I built this house in the same style of houses that are stacked horizontally next to each other, so the two sides would be where another house would attach. Hope it looks good, and can't wait to hear back from you!

Hey Fish,

Sorry about the delay. Overall nice work with the house! It seems like you're mostly caught up with current techniques.

My only feedback is that the timber frame pattern on the exteriors needs some refinement. You want to avoid mixing the diagonal beams and the vertical/horizontal variants too haphazardly, or it makes the patterns look a bit jumbled. I usually try to think about breaking the facade into horizontal sections, such as having a section of vertical timber, with a row of cross-beams below it. You also want to try to balance the level of structure and detail a bit more across the facade, for example it looks a bit odd here where you have the long open vertical strips on the sides, and then all the beams clustered in the center.

Before I bump you back up, I'd just like you to take a closer look at some of the timber pattern examples in OA and revise your current build. Let me know if I'm not making sense with the feedback and I'd be happy to illustrate when I get a chance.
