What do you like the most about GoT/ASoIaF?
I like the intellect of Tyrion Lannister; despite him being short, his intellect and strategy make him an amazing character. My favorite scene is the one where Ned stark gets executed. It shows all the other stark family characters' emotions and is a great turning point as it is the death of a beloved and noble character. Also, I like sausages (pls don't take it in the wrong manner).

What is your favorite build on our server?
The white palace in Kings Landing as its elegant and very ideal, I generally like medieval builds for their accuracy, size, and impact on the other environmental variables such as the streets and houses.

Why do you want to join our server?
I like being a member of a vast community that shares a deep connection; I would like to grow in my building skills and take pride in the work that showcases my talents and best efforts. I bring peace, creativity [color coordination, quick grasp, and architectural designs], and humor (yeah humor, [p.s don't expect standup comedy :p]. I bring fun and efforts in westeroscraft [more so if I can :D].

Tell us about your build.
It's a medieval build typically of a higher middle-class family that has some secrets to keep (XoX).A family of three lives in the build but one of the members is not who he/she seems regardless they have wealth, food and a nice view from their rooms!, the vegetation is growing because the house is near a river bank. I chose the material as they were simplistic and i could connect the materials to create a story befitting my preferences

sorry if you don't like it (felt like it after I saw the other application responses, my bad :p ), I can definitely try better, just had the idea now to look into recent builds (for now warping to duskendale :D)

Would love your feedback!

Hey Rabot3k,

Cheers for the application! At the moment, the house you have built isn't really in the style of the server at all - I would recommend spending some more time cruising the server looking at how we make houses. In particular I would recommend checking out /warp duskendale, KLupdate, maidenpool, highgarden, hawthorne, varner, uffering etc, as these are all modern builds with good styles for application (there are plenty more but I cannot bring them to mind right now, feel free to ask around in game). Having said this, sounds like you had the same idea!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Hello Codd!

I took some inspiration from Duskendale and Klupdate and applied some creativity, this is my first time using gradient and since the build is short (and that it's my first build in this manner), I don't know if it works the way I intended it to. Applied some weathering effects. It's a middle-class carpenter's house. Would really like your feedback! :D. Please feel free to drop any suggestions, I will note them (yes I do note em)

Some more screenshots cause I felt none captured the build from the front view.

I am away for the next week, but I will endeavour to get back to you with some proper feedback at some stage. I think you've made a huge improvement on your first house, but there is still a little way to go. I would like you to make a house for me in the style of the Highgarden town. Focus particularly on following the server style very closely - you will learn a lot of our do's and do-not's that way.

Good luck!

Some brief feedback as per the previous post.
  • Quartz wouldn't be a roofing material
  • Flooring shouldn't be a mix of vertical planks/normal planks - stick to one or the other, normally the regular plank blocks
  • The roof should have rafters on the inside
  • The daub and wattle would be more continuous, rather than discrete patches divided by vertical planks
There is more feedback that I could give, but I think you will have more luck if you spend more time on the server. My advice to you would be to explore some of our more recent builds (for example: Duskendale, Maidenpool, the King's Landing update (warp klcopy), Highgarden, Varner, Fairmarket, Hornvale) and focus on what common trends you see among their houses. One thing that you may find helpful is to take screenshots of builds you particularly admire, and then use them as inspiration for when you are building in singleplayer.

I hope the challenge build is going well!
