How to get World Edit

As a beginning builder, you most likely heard people talking about World Edit, commonly referred to as WE. Essentially, we use two editing plug-ins called world edit and voxel sniper to alter the terrain to our liking. With these, you can create everything from mountains and rivers to trees and beaches. Another extremely important function of world edit is its basic commands that we use for repetitive tasks. These include duplicating, replacing one material with another or more, removing and moving the targeted objects, etc. World edit and Voxel sniper are often used to create and alter terrain, therefore required when you start a project. It is also handy for speeding up the building process in general.

How do I obtain World Edit?

You just ask a moderator and they will promote you to E-Lite builder. This means you now can use WE. From here on you can start your journey as an editor. As a beginning editor, you are only allowed to use WE on your own plot, the WE tutorial, Voxel tutorial and the free for all zone. If you are still unsure about how WE works, we encourage you to visit /warp WETutorial and VoxelTutorial. These two tutorials offer you a crash course on the WE and Voxel basics. As moderators we put a lot of trust in the community by handing you World Edit permits, so please act accordingly. If we notice systemic use outside of these designated zones, your WE permission will be revoked.

When can I use World Edit on the production server?

If you want to use WE to build or terraform in the production world or any location not listed above you will need to prove to mods you are capable of using WE. This is done by terraforming a diorama as a test to show your skill. To create this diorama, you start from scratch and terraform terrain that could be pasted into the world. It is important that you do as much as possible through WE and Voxel. Keeping manual editing to a minimum. While you are free to choose what you put in your diorama, we encourage you to include a river with banks, a forest, varying steepness in terrain inclines, exposed rocks… Make it interesting!
