What do you like the most about GoT/ASoIaF?
I enjoy the world and culture created by George R.R. Martin, especially in relation to Westeros. I like the medieval setting with all the cities, towns, villages, castles, kings, knights, noble houses, banners, etc.

What is your favorite build on our server?
Highgarden. It reminds me of the classic fairy tale castle (like Cinderella) while also being very realistic and medieval accurate. I also really like all the garden and nature stuff, and its setting near the river. The builders put a lot of good time and effort into it.

Why do you want to join our server?
I'm passionate about ASoIaF/GoT. I've read all of the books and seen the first 5 seasons of the show and it is probably my favorite fantasy series, besides the Lord of the Rings. I've always appreciated the hard work that goes into the creations on this server and would like to help out in whatever way I can. I like the way you guys have truly fleshed out Westeros in a way no other has. I may not be as good of a builder as some of you guys are, judging by what I've seen on the server, but I'm willing to try and learn. I enjoy building castles on my own time in my own worlds, too.

Thank you for taking the time to apply for builder. I am happy to hear about your enthusiasm for medieval settings and culture as well as your fondness of the Song of Ice and Fire series.

I see no immediate problems with your app house except for one tiny detail. The shutter on the western side of your house (ref. picture 6) is orientated incorrectly. Hinges should face towards the window, albeit this could have also be an overlooked accident.

Please continue to post screenshots of your challenges here in this thread after I have assigned them so I may comment and provide feedback as we continue your application together.

For your first challenge, please build a medium-sized, middle class house in the style of /warp ChippingBarter. Please choose a profession of your choice that reflects the class and include a yard that accommodates that profession.

Hey Welchie, thank you for being patient with me. Feel free to 'bump' your application or send me a message on discord again if you go at least a week without response.

Great work with your first challenge build. Here is my feedback on it:

Exteriors:

• A majority of the time, the supporting rafters on the overhang should be stair/slab configuration.

• Make sure all of your windows have shutters.
• While roof weathering is acceptable, it's important to note which blocks go with which. Oldtown brick does not go with slate. Oak wood would be an acceptable block to use in this case.
• The roof peaks are a little messy. Reference similar roofs in the future in order to make sure you are achieving the correct design.

Interiors:

• The furnace/chimney palette should be consistent with the stone used in your foundation.
• Don't leave gaps between your rafters (reference image 3/10)

Overall good start. For your next challenge, please construct a middle-class house with yard/street decoration in the style of /warp hornvale. Profession is of your choice, but choose one different from your previous challenge and that fits the region well.
