The Spring 2023 edition of The Rookery is now out! Take a look to see the latest builds, guides, progress and development updates on the upcoming 1.18.2 switch. You can read it here:
Closing this thread because it's effectively subsumed under this suggestion (see item 1 - adding variants for plaster/light stone types). This won't be included in the impending update, but I'll look at it in more detail for the subsequent one.
Hey NikEijg,
No worries about the delay; feel free to work on the app whenever you have time. Great work with this house; I actually think with this side especially you hit a good level of detail - it's not boring, but it's not overwhelming either. The interiors look strong as well, I only have...
Hey Heidelbaer,
Sorry about the long delay - for future submissions, feel free to ping me if it's been more than several days with no reply.
Overall it seems like you did a pretty good job with the apphouse, however you have some texture issues that are keeping some stuff from rendering...
Hey SamueleFranco,
Sorry about the long delay - for future submissions, feel free to ping me if it's been more than several days with no reply.
Nice work with the apphouse! The second attempt looks pretty good. Just one small detail, the seat at the table should use dark thatch rather than...
Hey Tobi,
Sorry for the hold-up. Overall you did a great job with this house! The timber frame pattern looks really nice. I just have a few minor points of feedback:
- It looks like you mistook the black slate with blue slate. The latter type isn't used in Fairmarket at all, IIRC.
- It's not...
Fantastic work Ric! You did a very nice job of capturing the vibe of a mysterious and secluded island that's a sanctum from the rest of the war-torn Riverlands. The primitive huts are really well done also. You have my post-approval.
I've always interpreted the light vs. dark thatch variation as representing differences in materials - dried straw and rushes used for thatching tends to be a bit lighter than reeds and sedges, AFAIK. Aside from that, we have the two variants because they tend to work well respectively with the...
Got a chance to give these two a look. Overall it's looking really nice so far, it feels like you have a strong vision behind you this time, and the terra so far is excellent. Plotting-wise everything seems very well put together, though I'm not a fan of the 45-degree houses and would suggest...
Hey jacje,
Very nice work with this submission! The whole farmstead feels very immersive and well-integrated with the surrounding landscape. I'll get right into the feedback; mostly picky stuff:
- The layouts of some of the diagonal houses seem a bit off, since they're not symmetrical on the...
Hey Tobi,
Great work with this challenge; it looks like a really solid WH style house! (although I'd place the style as more upper-class than middle-class, but that doesn't matter). I agree that the gradient is well done this time. Here's some of the feedback I have:
- Avoid using fence...
Hey jaxosm,
Sorry about the wait, I was away for the last week. I'm glad to see your interest in the server and being part of our community!
Nice work with the apphouse; not really seeing any issues with it. I like the little cove you created as well. Hope the exercise was helpful for learning...
Hey neinwhal,
Sorry about the wait, I was away for the last week. I'm glad to see your interest in the server!
Nice work with the apphouse; not really seeing any issues with it. You did a great job with adding small immersive details as well. Hope the exercise was helpful for learning our...
I'm fine with adding these if Thamus_Knoward is willing to provide the textures. I'd like some people to step up to the task of updating existing armories with the blocks in an organized fashion, though.
Hey Azulejo,
Not much feedback to give on this one - again you've gone above and beyond the challenge expectations, even adding some custom terraforming (done with WE I assume?). Everything looks great aesthetically, and well-planned as well. The only minor thing I'd nitpick is that some of the...
Hey Amingo,
No worries about the delay, and thanks for your patience through the app process.
I'd say that you pulled off this house very well! It's a really good balance of detail and simplicity. I just have a couple of minor points:
- You should cover the kitchen bench block in this picture...
I fixed this inconsistency in the last update, but just forgot to update the inventory icons. Will be fixed in the next update. Can't fix the order of the blocks in the inventory unfortunately.
