Features

#House Buckler: Lands and Holdings

House Buckler is a powerful noble house located in the northern Stormlands, situated directly south of the Kingswood. The house derives its significant influence and wealth from its strategic position along the King's Road, profiting heavily from the constant flow of trade and travelers passing through its territory.

The following locations and landmarks comprise the estates of House Buckler:

  • Bronzegate Castle: The central seat of House Buckler, inspired by the dual-towered design of Castle Trosky. It sits at the heart of the territory, commanding the King's Road. The fortress is famed for its massive bronze gate, which dates back to the era of the First Men and is intricately decorated with ancient runes.
  • Bronzevillage (North): A rural settlement located to the north of the castle, characterized by extensive agricultural production and farming.
  • The Bellmaker: Situated along the King's Road, this specialized artisan sources copper and zinc from the northern Stormlands. While smaller bells are cast in his local smithy, he travels throughout the lands to cast larger bells on-site, as they are too heavy for traditional transport.
  • Bronzehill (South): A highly religious town situated on a mountain to the south. It serves as a major destination for pilgrims, housing a Sept and a sacred Relique that attracts travelers from across the realm.
  • Bronzwick (Southeast): A vassal holdfast located to the southeast, situated on a forested mountain. It serves as a loyal subordinate seat to House Buckler.

Construction

The construction of the House Buckler lands followed a structured expansion from north to south, evolving through collaboration and refined inspiration:

  • Initial Planning: The project began using original layout plans created by the player Kor.
  • Inspiration & Approval: Following the initial phase, a period of research was conducted to gather specific visual inspirations (such as the Trosky-inspired castle), which led to the project receiving its official "Platten" (approval/plot assignment).
  • Construction Phase: Building commenced in the North of the territory and was systematically expanded toward the South.
  • Collaboration: During the eraly development process, Tobi joined the project as a Co-op partner to assist in the completion of the lands.
  • Completion: After the collaborative building phase, the project was officially finished on January 18th.

Inspiration

nspired by the late-medieval realism of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and the architectural design of Castle Trosky, this project brings the northern Stormlands to life through a grounded and atmospheric style. The aesthetic focuses on historical authenticity, reflecting the rugged yet wealthy nature of the lands surrounding Bronzegate.
