Hey Zsomiking, I will be your probation leader! What i need of you is to build atleast 5 houses in 5 different styles in under a month. I will check these houses and offer feedback and critiques, and after a month if your builds are satisfactory, you will be promoted to full builder. I will try to give you feedback ingame as often as I can, but if I don’t see you online for a while, I will post feedback on this thread. Also, after looking at your application, I see you are already quite advanced in your building skills. As such, I will be quite strict both with my critiques and creative expectations. I know you are up to the challenge and look forward to seeing your builds!

Hey Escaped Duck, thank you for taking me under your wing!
I promise I will try to meet your expectations, and I hope I wont disappoint you!

I'm on holiday this month so I can be found on the server quite often.

1-7 we went over ingame a while ago, sorry for not posting this feedback earlier.
Highlights:
-went over alot of stuff with doors, how to make them look good and blend in, etc.
-don't clutter interior layouts too much. Windows and open space are important for making the build feel good to walk around in.
-went over a bunch of small interior techniques like thatch carpets and low class furnishings
-overall really good job especially on exteriors!

/warp ambrosetown2
- Trading Warehouse
- Merchant Captain's lodge
-2 Farmer houses with shared yard.

X: -2678, Y: 36, Z: 17005

8+9: we went over ingame, no problems with the first house really but the second house the main issues were:
-we went over how to correctly use vines (not spotty, make sure they are connected to the ground for nutrients and water)
-went over the proper way to do a granary
-explored some ways to make the roof better (it's still rather unusual though but I leave the discretion for changing it up to JMC)
-went over how to properly build a realistic granary

10: Trading warehouse
-we went over this one ingame
-make sure the interiors are not too croweded
-cover up food that would spoil easily
-went over how to improve your crane

11: Merchant captain
-went over this one ingame
-really nice job, my only issue was that you forgot to build the yard
-i gave a couple tips on exterior (no shutters over arrow slits, add plants on the beach side)

12: farmer houses
-Larger house
-i left some melons, thanks for addressing those (remove the large cellar)
-change the arrow slits to stone slab arrow slits, it goes better with plaster and reach stone
-change the thatch bed on the bottom floor to itchy straw bed, and change the halfdoors to oak or jungle. You don't need a footboard on a thatch bed first of all, second of all, spruce does not go well with thatch.

-Smaller house
-thanks for adressing my melons i left (fix the door and windows)
-only other feedback is your hedges around the melon and cabbage patches were really messy. I fixed those but they were much too wide and random before.

Note to Duck:
I won't be on the server for 4 days because of a family trip.
I'll be back on the 24th of July!

Ramsay Mill Complex
Residential house:
-Please remove the curtains (fur and nets) from above the beds. These are unnecessary and unrealistic.
-the fur rug between the beds is cut in half, either do a full rug or remove the small bits as they wouldn't leave blankets on the floor
-i'd add maybe 1 more small window (stair blocks or arrow slit)
-the wood pile on the corner of the house is so big it probably deserves its own shed. maybe move it to the barn or give it some sort of covering/support or else it would get wet and fall over (logs are round remember)

Barn:
-maybe add some nets or wooden carpets ontop of some open grain crates, remember it would be easy for rats and birds to eat the grain if they didn't cover it up
-in the main barn i left a melon describing what I think is a rake? There is some feedback there
-the wood sections (and on the plow house) are quite boring, maybe add some more bushes or vines there

Ambrosetown2 wine merchant
-we went over this one ingame
-don't overcomplicate interiors

Ambrosetown2 watchtower
-went over this one as well
-don't overuse contrasting blocks (cobblestone in this case)
-no need for a gigantic brazier on the roof

DFringfort
-the roof is a bit weird, i think you can clean it up a bit (solid blocks in the corners in particular)
-you really like using nets in your build for decoration. it's fine for the fisherman in this case but try to only keep nets to where they would be found realistically. You use them too often in random field houses and stuff.
-make sure you support firewood on the side with halfdoors or wattle fence. the wood would fall down otherwise
-you could add some bushes around the back I think

I'll do 18-20 as soon as I can, i'm on vacation right now as well

18:
-went over it ingame, nice little house. no real problems. '

19:
-idk about the pallate choice on this one but I defer to the project leader in this case. Imo it would be better with wood but not up to me.

20: Cidery + market
-
went over ingame
-cleaned up the gardens (less unecessary walls, mixed crops)
-added some bushes and windows to the barn
-decreased bushes in high traffic areas
-adjusted minor structural things on the tower and front gate
-went over some of the market stalls (made them less fancy)

Really nice work on this!

-5 fisherman houses around a small square
X,Y,Z : 5452, 47, 11622

Knifesmith:
-the vaulting on the bottom floor is a bit inconsistent. Fix it so it's more even.
-idk about the glass on the corner, might be a bit too expensive. ask veggie on that one.
-make sure you put stairs on the underside of the stairs going to the top floor. they look too block otherwise
-really cool interiors!

Hedge knight:
-on the back facade, the little slab with a plant on it is a bit strange. You could do hanging baskets from an iron chain if u want to add plants to the exterior
-otherwise nice job! hard plot but it's executed well.

Lamp maker:
-watch using too much glass
-don't use super contrasting wood colors

Wheelwright:
-added some furnishings to interior
-fixed sawdust patterns

Scribe:
-no problems here, nice job!

Tailor:
-dont use 3 types of wood

Fisherman houses:
-cleaned a few things up
-nice work over all
