Most of the houses in the area had fish net windows and grass floors. The grass floors are kind of weird but I think they might be part of the style. -

After 30 min of searching I found the bellow you were talking about! Still no melons though, you're right it must just be acting weird. -

I'm not seeing any melons at those houses but I fixed everything that you mentioned here. Also I took a look at some other forges and the majority of them didn't have bellows so I removed it. -
