What is your age?
21-24

In what country are you living?
Portugal

Where did you first hear about WesterosCraft?
Don't Remember

What do you like the most about GoT/ASoIaF?
About ASoIaF:
Although the character development comes in close second, the worldbuilding takes the throne for me. It makes the story so much more complex, interesting and alive. It's so well done. The lore is so deep and realistically implemented. Also, the characters are very complex and flawed, which makes them feel like actual human beings.
My favorite scene is definitely The Red Wedding. It's genius storytelling. It caught everyone off guard, while being completely predictable. That's how you subvert expectations like a pro.

About GoT:
I really liked it. It was one of the best book adaptations I had ever seen. I love the fact that they managed to bring the complexity of the books to the small screen, while making it very easy to watch. The plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, everything was there. It was amazing!
Sad that they only made four seasons...

What is your favorite build on our server?
Highgarden!
Because I thought it wasn't possible to exceed my expectations. All the illustrations and depictions I had seen for HG were allways kind of "dreamy". I allways thought that there was no way you could make it look like that AND make it realistically plausible.
Well, guess what?!

Why do you want to join our server?
I first applied to this server back in 2015.
Building in Minecraft is my favorite thing. Also, I love ASoIaF's world and I want to be part of it's recreation in my favorite game.
I believe that my work can benefit the server. Even though I'm not a very good builder, I'm good at following orders. Eventually I'll become decent and then we'll see.
I want to spend part of my free time building on this server, so I'll try to be more active and helpful in the server xD

Tell us about your build.
I built a small and modest home. A family of 2 lives and works there. The husband is a cooper and provides for both.
The house was built in the style of the Duskendale outskirts. It uses a mix of brown stone for the foundation, wattle and daub for the walls (with a wood planks roof wall) and a slightly messy thatch roof.
The house main floor is divided in two by a half door wall. On one side they have the workshop and on the other is the living quarters, with a second floor for the sleeping area.

Did you follow the application rules?

Hey Gonx,

Welcome back, good to see you again! Overall your house looks pretty good and mostly up to modern standards; there's just a couple things I want to comment on:

- The timber pattern feels slightly messy/random; I recommend taking a bit more time to scrutinize the ones in Duskendale or other new projects. In particular, I'd recommend avoiding the horizontal rows of the "open" timber frame blocks (the ones without any cross-beams) entirely, especially now that we have vertical CTM timber blocks.

- Don't use table windows! These were a trend on the server for a short while, but we introduced new timber frame window blocks to replace them, so the table windows are considered strictly outdated. Any houses on the server using the table windows (there aren't many since it was a fairly short-lived trend) are being updated to use the timber frame windows instead.

- The interiors feel a bit too messy. Some of this has to do with material use; avoid randomly mixing oak and jungle wood, for instance. Sometimes it's fine to use a little jungle wood to represent corrosion, but it should be more connected "blobs" rather than random. Also, I recommend being careful with oak wood next to spruce, since they can contrast badly in some cases.

I want to give you one challenge build before making you builder again just to make sure you're fully caught up on the evolution of our style. Since you found yourself so impressed by Highgarden, how about you try your hand at making a middle-class house in the town style there? Pay close attention to the things I mentioned above like the timber patterns and material use, and try to pick up on any stylistic details that might have changed since you were last a builder. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey Emote,

Thanks for the feedback! It cleared some things up for me.

Here is my HG Town house. It's the home to a family of four. They own a tailor shop in the first floor. I used the reach stone gradient for the foundation and the timber oak white W&D. Also added some variation with the brownish white plaster as I saw some examples of that and it looks more interesting.
Again, I used the slight angled shape because it's something that I'm not really used to, and want to get better at.

Thank you for your time!

Hey Gonx,

Great work, you pulled off the diagonal very nicely! :) I don't really have any feedback to give this time around.

I'll promote you to builder again; current practice for returning older builders is that you'll go through a limited probation period where you have to build 5 houses in different regions, but can be promoted to full builder as soon as those are done and a probation leader signs off on them. Let me know if you have any questions. Welcome back!
