Still having old Launcher when installing the newest

I had the Problem that when i clicked launch minecraft on the Bottom Right Corner that Nothing happened even though everything was updated, then i came here and read About a new launcher, i looked through links and Downloads but ended up with the same launcher that is this White square with the Servers on the left and in Bottom Right update and launch minecraft, please help
