What is your Minecraft username?
TheIrishFisher

What is your age?
13-16

In what country are you living?
I am from Austria. (NOT Australia. Austria.)

What do you like the most about GoT/ASoIaF?
It is a fully functional world. As a Writer myself I do really appreciate Martins work. And the worldbuilding is a 15 out of 10. My favourite scene is probably Dany hireing the Unsullied and my favourite character was :( the one and only Jon Snow

What is your favorite build on our server?
Any lony castle is cool. I remember roaming around the server, finding a lonly tower in the north and spending half an hour trying to get the perfect picture with shaders. My favourite is probably Ferren Castle

Why do you want to join our server?
I know, it sounds odd but I have already applied but I deleted my email i logged in with. In case you want to know, my previous name was Grien09. So here I'm back again. So don't wonder, in the background of my build are some walls of the second task you gave me. I want to join, because I like building in Minecraft and with a team its even more fun. The modpack is great and your work is stunning.

You know nothing, Jon Snow.

Welcome back!
so it seems to me, from your application build, that you didn't properly install CTM. Maybe you should go ahead and make sure you have that ready, so you can build with the proper textures.

So let's continue where we left off with your previous application.
I asked you to build a middle-class house in the style of /warp duskendale.

You can make a post here with screenshots and i'll give you feedback accordingly :)

See ya

Actually got bored an built four houses, however, only one of them has interior. I dont know if I've messed up the wall pattern but I've definitly messed up the order of the pics.
Gave the house the provession of a weaver or something, hopefully this is good. Took a lot of inspiration from the houses at the river in duskendale.

And don't forget: Winter is Coming

Have I understood something wrong or have I not mentioned clear enough, that this is my final work for /duskendale?
If so, I apologise, otherwise once more: Bump :)

Hey Irish_Fisher,

So... first of all, its great you decided to do even more than just one standalone house!

I'm just gonna focus on the one fully furnished house you sent, though.
Here's some feedback for your build, and things you should improve upon in your next challenge:
  • It seems you chose a stone ceiling for the ground floor in your house. You would only really use a stone vaulted ceiling in your basement, not on the ground floor. A wooden ceiling would be much more fitting.
  • On your first floor, the wooden ceiling beams are too closely stacked together. I would suggest you leave at least one block apart between your studs (stair blocks) on the ceiling.
  • On the second wood ceiling you seem to have used the parquet block. Firstly, you shouldn't just use a full block for your ceiling. Much better would be stairs/slabs like you did on the other floor. And also, the parquet sides are showing on the stairs to the attic. That block only really makes sense to be used as a flooring material, not on the sides. So if you decide to use a block like that, make sure the sides aren't exposed.
  • Your upstair rooms look a bit too tall for the building. Generally, the ground floor should have the highest ceiling, with the upper (timber made) floors are rather short in height compared.
  • Your half timbered exterior looks a bit messy. For the timber framing, try to line up the blocks so that the beams continually flow horizontally and vertically. Think of how the beams hold the entire load of the house. Additionally, you should use some diagonal supports in the wall also. right now, it seems no thought to structural integrity was given, rather just thrown together until it looks decent. Always worth looking at the existing builds for inspiration on wall patterns.

I apologize again for leaving you hanging here so long, i got a lot going on IRL. I'll try to get you through the process quickly!

For your next challenge, i'd like you to build a small farmers house in the style found near /warp Holyhall.
Good luck!
