    A Stormlands Overhaul

okay so the main issue I find with an undeveloped wendwater valley is that we’ve got the Slayne being referred to as ‘one of’ the major river trading routes. It would make sense if the wendwater was another, if only for wood ferrying. now, it might be better to refer to the ‘old Kingswood’ as...

    Completed House Garner: Project Thread

Feedback on the plotting; it might be good to look at bane fort and stackspear, which have more defendable, close together settlements which would help when resisting raiders. It might be a good idea to create buildings that line up together and have their yards/yard walls outside of the...

Approved Project Application: House Willum by Daenerys (update/redo)

So, I've had a look at the tests again and would like to repeat that it'd be cool to have the taller buildings look more similar to material at middlebury and rhysling as they're two close by, very good projects and have great examples of plotting.

Pic for attention :P So, we have 1 approving mod so far, Dutch. We'll definitely be taking feedback on buildings until plotting is finalised. Any other modly feedback?

The Arbor: Feedback, Suggestions & Testing

Just jumping onto the thread here. Based on the discussion for Garner, it would make sense to have a developed textile industry on the arbor, producing cloth for the general population as well as a huge amount for the sails. To quote Lemon from the Garner thread Now, when it comes to the...

    Completed House Garner: Project Thread

Wool can also be used to create sails, though particular varieties of sheep (northern european short tail) are needed and it can take approximately 100 fleeces to create enough wool for a standard longship.

Wool and other textiles are also incredibly important to making ships! In fact the most time and potentially resource intensive process of making a ship would have been the sail in the medieval period.

I'm fine with either, but stone for the larger towers/keep is also very good! Reinforces the idea that wood is the most abundant resource in the area. The stone version is brilliant proof of concept. Maybe it could be kept for Horpe, Rainhouse or Broad Arch?

    Hello

Hello Arenq, it's great to have you with us! Doing great on my end and the server in general is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary

Hey Rex! The app is looking good! Where I've got a bit of feedback is that if Garner was assisting the Farmans defend the Westerland coast, wouldn't they have a few beaches where they build ships or have built ships? Perhaps the fields exist where forest was cleared to build these.

    A Stormlands Overhaul

Regardless, we deal with the hand GRRM has dealt us. :( alrighty. Also, the point on trade isn't entirely true. Tarth and the southern coast of cape wrath probably trade with the free cities, and Weeping Town isn't the only coastal port there, its just the largest

    "Better Grass" Discussion

Having the exposed dirt sides I find is nice when walking on paths that are a slab below the height of said dirt, or even just with the new path block. It gives a feeling of there having been enough foot traffic to cut a path into the landscape and have exposed dirt walls on the side from that...

    A Stormlands Overhaul

Of course! Any similarity to the two would probably just be in terms of stone palettes when they do occur, rather than any close similarity. And especially the Tor houses would be unusable for a cape wrath style due to their flat rooves. On the point about hills around Broad Arch, I'd say that...

NIghtfort Server Build - Gift Settlements

Aight okay so now to exploit the anticipation. So, mostly I think that the second smaller building and the split of that red section doesn't need to happen. If the smaller building were simply added on the other side of the larger building, it would work completely fine and not clutter up the...

Block Change Request: Removing Timber Frame Cross Blocks CTM

Yeah, I'm on the side of keeping the vertical CTM because I love using the linking to reduce business in a facade. Certainly a lot of the daub facades I've built are done with that white borderless bit in mind and I kinda feel like I'd need to go back and change them to make it fit again. I'd...

    A Stormlands Overhaul

So, here are some ideas on how the Stormlands can feel different from other areas of Westeros and contain some interesting features to set it apart from the Reach and Crownlands. Currently, our differences are mud, brown terrainset and having large forests, which obviously isn't the easies...

Only issue with Bran Castle as insp is that you would have to make it not seem like Dyre Den, which currently also uses Bran as inspiration. Of course, its not 1:1, but bear that in mind.
