The Spring 2023 edition of The Rookery is now out! Take a look to see the latest builds, guides, progress and development updates on the upcoming 1.18.2 switch. You can read it here:
I think its up to homie now but I love this second one, particularly the detailing of the roof and how the wooden extensions are done. Can't wait to have a look at the yard too. Really has more of that compound feel to it.
I was moreso thinking about size and utility of buildings, rather than their individual design features. Red brick with stepped gables certainly wouldn't work in Bolling :P.
Perhaps looking at some of the hunting lodges of Henry VIII Tudor might be good for things that aren't very holdfasty? The English king was a prolific builder of them and a number survive, from large ones like Great Fosters to small structures that weren't much more than a covered bench area on...
Redo Appeal approved.
Just a reminder that while you can submit a project application for Greenstone, you can't begin building until after Lonmouth has been submitted for Post Approval
Just gonna try and voice this before making a request. What is the view on a wooden shingle block that could be used for walls as well? Like how Stave churches and some vernacular architecture of the carpathians have shingles covering some walls.
I'm mostly thinking this might be a useful block...
I'd recommend having a heart tree (could have a segment of northern carving on a non-weirwood tree. It'd be fun to have more non-weirwood heart trees) rather than a shrine. It'd help distinguish worshippers of the Old Gods south of the wall from the Free Folk crab worshippers north of the wall...
Castles wouldn't need to be changed really imo. Mostly they're near the river which would be much more homogenised. Its house style that would be good. Imo, Lolliston doesn't need to change, there's enough space that could have a lusatian style.
By ornate I'm referring to the tiled perimeter wall, and corner tower and tower of the main building for a hunting lodge, rather than a holdfast. Imo having more evidence that it is not a holdfast but a hunting lodge would be good. Would it be helpful if I left feedback in the form of melons on...
Apologies for taking so long to get back to this.
The lodge seems like a very ornate construction for a hunting lodge, and without much in the way of utilities like kennels or a dovecote/rabbit hutches to increase game numbers for sport. I'm also not such a fan of the double roof on a smaller...
Haigh and Erenford sit on the river. They aren't really 'when the riverlands side (is) more hilly' that this style would work best in. The completed, riverlands styles in this hilly region really are only Nutten and Grey. Currently there's two in progress builds, Loliston and Haigh, which have...
What I was suggesting would be opening up some of the terrain between the lake and the Rowan river and carving a passage through, similar to how Belleglen's valley functions.
I'd be completely fine with a stream going through unfinished terrain between Falwell and Ivyhall.
d’Alembert Diderot’s encyclopedie seems to use de re Metallica as one of its main sources for that section, so it shouldn’t be too much of a disparity between our setting and the 18th C text.
Loving the palette and cracks included in it! The castle is interesting. Do you plan on adding a few of the buildings that seem to lead up to it in the insp?
Another way to do it would be to put the watershed through the castles position, with the lake then draining to the west towards the...
Hey, I'm completely fine for you to present a new app for Hamell. It'd be good to keep the notable material, castle and so on in test because of how well done many buildings are. That being said, I am excited to see what you have in mind for a new look to Hamell and wish you all the best with...
From the sound of it, the Trident gets rain coming through from the sunset sea, considering how heavily it rained when Cat was higher in the green fork catchment and that it'd make sense for Iron Island storms to roll south under the cape of , it would make sense that the trident was a high...
